We deliver every order ourselves, in our own van, within Chennai and Tambaram. Customers often ask when their order will arrive, so here is how our routes work in the three weeks before Deepavali.
The van leaves Saligramam at 10 am and again at 3 pm. Each day of the week covers a different part of the city. Monday and Thursday go west and south: Valasaravakkam, Porur, Ramapuram and Guindy. Tuesday and Friday go north: Vadapalani, Anna Nagar, Kilpauk and Perambur. Wednesday and Saturday cover the south: K.K. Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Velachery, Medavakkam and Tambaram. Sunday is for orders that missed their day.
Orders placed before 6 pm are packed that evening and go out on the next run to your area, which is why we say two to three days. In the final week, traffic around T. Nagar and on Arcot Road doubles every journey time, so we try to finish south Chennai and Tambaram by the Wednesday before Deepavali.
One of our staff calls you an hour before the van arrives. Someone over 18 needs to be home to receive the carton; we do not leave crackers with security guards or at the gate. Delivery is free above ₹2,500 and ₹150 below. Online orders close on 2 November, but you can still walk into the shop on Arcot Road until Deepavali eve. Ordering in the first two weeks of October gives you the widest choice and the easiest delivery slots.
