Choosing and sending honey gifts in Kerala’s festival seasons, with prices and the dates to order by.

Honey makes a quiet, useful gift, and our three busiest gifting seasons are Onam in August or September, Christmas, and Vishu in April. Each has its own pattern of orders.
For Onam, families often add a jar to the sadya basket they take to elders, and offices give small gifts to staff. Our 250 g creamed honey at ₹380 and the honey and dipper tray at ₹690 are the most popular. For a group of twenty or more, we can pack plain jars in cloth bags with a handwritten tag, and we need about a week’s notice. Remember that August and September fall in the monsoon, when we take no new honey, so Onam gifts come from the summer’s stock.
At Christmas, the honey with cashew and almond, ₹540 for 300 g, goes into plum cake baskets and hampers. Order by 12 December for delivery outside Kerala; courier companies slow down in the last week of the year. Glass jars are wrapped in card and paper, and we have had very few breakages, but we replace any jar that arrives cracked if you send a photo.
For Vishu in April, rubber and forest honey are both freshly harvested, so it is the best time to give a jar of the new season. A raw honeycomb box at ₹890 makes a striking kani-day gift. Whatever the festival, ask for a printed card with your message; we add it at no charge.
