Who we are
Iron, clay and copper, the way our grandmothers cooked.
Our grandfather opened the shop in 1962, selling brass and copper to Madurai households. We still buy from the same families of smiths and potters, season every iron piece in the back room and send copper to Selvam for tinning.
Hand-forged iron kadais, seasoned tawas, Manamadurai clay pots and tin-lined copper, chosen from the makers we have bought from for forty years. Not sure where to start? Our iron starter set has a kadai, a tawa and a paniyaram pan, seasoned and ready, for ₹3,450.

Nothing we sell is non-stick or painted. Iron, clay, copper, brass and tin, and nothing else touches your food.

Iron is seasoned and clay is soaked and tested before it leaves, so the first meal works.

We re-tin copper, re-season rusty iron and replace lids. Bring back what you bought.
