What a 4-camera home system costs in 2026, item by item

Cameras, recorder, hard disk, cable, conduit, UPS and labour. An open breakdown for a typical independent house in Lucknow.

Most of our home customers choose a four-camera system for an independent house: the gate, the parking, the front door and the back door or staircase. Here is what such a system costs in Lucknow in 2026, before any discount, so you can compare quotes fairly.

Four 2 MP cameras with colour night vision cost ₹2,200 to ₹3,200 each, so about ₹10,800. A 4-channel DVR is about ₹3,800, and a 1 TB surveillance hard disk about ₹4,200. These disks are made to record all day and night; an ordinary computer disk fails much sooner. Power supply, connectors and a lockable cabinet for the recorder add ₹2,500.

Cable is where cheaper quotes often cut corners. For a typical house, 90 to 120 metres of good copper coaxial cable with power, plus PVC conduit to protect it, costs about ₹6,000. A small UPS to keep recording through power cuts adds ₹3,500. Labour for a day of installation by two technicians, including drilling, conduit, labelling and phone setup, is ₹4,500.

That brings the total to roughly ₹35,000 to ₹38,000 including GST. Quotes of ₹15,000 for the same four cameras usually leave out conduit, use thin copper-coated cable, skip the UPS or use a desktop hard disk. Ask any installer for an itemised quote and compare line by line. Our annual maintenance plan for this system costs ₹3,600 a year and is optional.
