What happens at a bridal trial

Three hours, two looks and a set of notes we follow on the wedding morning.

A bridal trial is a full rehearsal of your wedding look. It is included in every bridal booking at Kannadi, and it is the single most useful hour you will spend before the wedding.

Bring your saree, or a photo of it in daylight, and your jewellery, especially the necklace and earrings. Bring photos of looks you like and, just as useful, looks you do not. Come with clean skin and hair washed the night before.

We start by talking through the day: the muhurtham time, the venue lighting, how long you will be in the makeup, and whether there is a change of saree. Then we do your skin prep, base and eyes, and look at the result in daylight and under a ring light, the way your photographer will see it. Most brides change something at this stage, and that is the point.

We photograph the final look from three angles and write down every product and shade. On the wedding morning, your artist follows these notes exactly, so there is no guesswork. The trial usually takes about three hours. If you want to try a second look for the reception, we can do both on the same day.
