A site visit, a mood board and a quote within one working day: how planning a function with Thoranam begins.

If you have not worked with a décor team before, it can be hard to know what to ask or how much to decide in the first meeting. Here is how it usually goes with us, from your first message to a confirmed booking.
It begins with a call or a WhatsApp message. Kavya asks the basics: the function, the date and muhurtham time, the venue, the number of guests and a rough budget. If you have photos you like, send them. If you do not, that is fine too.
For weddings and larger functions, we visit the venue with you, ideally at the same time of day as the event, so we can see the light. We measure the stage, the entrance and the ceiling height, find the power points and note the hall’s rules. For a home function, such as a griha pravesam or a seemantham, we visit the flat and look at the entrance, the pooja room and the hall. A visit within Chennai is free.
Within one working day, we send a mood board and a quote. The mood board shows the colours, flowers and pieces we suggest, with photos from our own past work. The quote lists flowers, hire, lighting, labour and clearing separately. You can change anything and we revise it quickly. When you are happy, a 30% advance confirms the date. A week before the event, we send the crew schedule and the name of the person in charge on the day. The balance is paid after set-up, once you have seen it.
